When giving it to an office etc, do you spell your name without being asked?

For example, if you’re speaking to a receptionist at a medical practice or calling idk your insurance company

I was going to specify “the first time” but then I realized I’m actually more likely to spell my name automatically if I know they’re looking it up in a set of records

bro this is latin. someone actually thought latinos speak latin in latin america

We had the opposite problem at work.

Got a call one day, and the person on the other end said, “Is there going to be Mass in Spanish today?”

“I’m sorry, we don’t have a Spanish Mass.”

“But online it says you have one on Wednesdays.”

“Where? What website?”

“Yours. It says you have one at 6 PM.”

“OH! I’m sorry. The Latin Mass is in Latin, not Spanish.”

“…Oh. Okay.” *click*

Absolutely one of the weirdest calls I’ve fielded…

Help me settle a debate. My mom says the “correct” way to put a greeting card in an envelope is with the spine (the fold) first so it ends up at the bottom. I think it’s easier to put a card in spine last, so the fold ends up at the top. And now I’m wondering if it’s a right-handed vs. left-handed thing…

So, which way do you think is the “correct” way to insert a card into an envelope, and are you right-handed or left-handed?

Spine (fold) at the bottom. I’m left-handed.

Spine (fold) at the bottom. I’m right-handed.

Spine (fold) at the top. I’m left-handed.

Spine (fold) at the top. I’m right-handed.

Spine (fold) at the bottom. I’m ambidextrous.

Spine (fold) at the top. I’m ambidextrous.

You’re still sending actual, physical, paper cards?! How OLD are you?

Queer Chameleon and Friends

Written and illustrated by Amee Wilson

This book is a delightful collection of queer comics from flag definition to things queer people hate to clichés a little too close for comfort.

Main message: you are who you say you are.

a fun fact i can post now: the glasgow subway ticket machines have had a little sticker added to them that says they don’t accept the new king charles bank notes and if you have those you have to go to the counter to use them. i assume the keyword here is new and this is because the image-recognition of the cash machine can’t for whatever reason be quickly updated to accept novel currency as legitimate. but frankly it’s more fun to imagine the machines have refused to accept the transfer of power and are just straight up committing treason on purpose.
